APRIL 2022 NEWSLETTER
Welcome to Deer Country's Newsletter! This is a half IC, half OOC informational post. We strongly urge our player base to read all Newsletters posted to the community as they contain important information about that month's weather, environmental changes, other plot-important information, important dates, and any important mod announcements. Newsletters will allow a chance for players to post about the impact their characters may have made in the setting using the form down below.
You can always feel free to ask questions on newsletters. Of course, we may sometimes suggest you wait until the event for certain questions, but for the most part, we should be able to help you out! Players are welcome to engage with the prompts/elements from Newsletter as soon as they are accepted into the game. Players may also use newsletter prompts as a basis for writing samples in applications.

CURRENT SEASON:: The Season of Tears continues on into April. The vitality of March ebs away, leaving Trench muddy and wet, the sound of water trickling all throughout the city.
THE MOON:: April is in a permanent nocturnal state meaning there is NO DAYLIGHT during April. The moon will remain full throughout the entire month and fill the city and surrounding areas with a hazy green glow. The sun will rise once again the morning of May 1st.
PATRON PTHUMERIAN:: Argonaut is the patron of April and will be seen floating throughout the city and woods. Most people have likely seen Argonaut flying around Trench as he's the most common Pthumerian to see, but this month he is bolder than usual and may randomly rest on Sleeper's. You might have a moth friend clinging to your back, but don't worry! He has a very comforting aura. If you're kind or receptive to his presence, he will even physically heal wounds. He is quite cuddly this month and who would say no to that face? Protect him at all costs. Despite April being Argonaut's month, he will be especially vulnerable this month, dying easily, made delicate by how much magic he is sacrificing to the city and the Sleepers.
MONTHLY BLESSINGS:: On your Blessed Day this month, your Patron Pthumerian will bless you with the Phial of Argonaut. This phial is unbreakable and cannot be opened. The contents within is the pure essence of Argonaut and serves as a beacon of hope when times are dark...Literally! When you feel hopeless and lost, take out this phial and not only will it provide a pale white light, it will also chase away doubt and anxiety in the moment. Many heroes have carried this phial with them into battlefields. It is said to work more effectively with those who are physically weaker or worse fighters than others - though it's far from useless for a seasoned warrior. The more hopeful an individual, the more powerful the light in the phial will be to the point where its light may scorch nearby beasts and burn away corruption from a mind.
THE WEATHER:: The plantlife from March remains intact. A thick fog will shroud Trench throughout April, made green by the moonlight above. Periodically specks of white light can be seen floating all throughout the city. They vanish before falling to the ground, but if you manage to catch the light, they will linger a moment later before melting out of existence. Lights have been known to cling to people's hair and clothes before melting away like snow. Every now and then, the fog throughout the city gushes around, like something massive has just flown through, but you can't actually see anything...Yet.
SIGNIFICANT CHANGES:: None currently.
EFFECTS FROM PREVIOUS MONTH:: Characters may still be suffering from allergies from March.

Each month, blood types will be impacted differently depending on events, Pthumerians, and moon cycles. These changes will vary significantly. These changes are meant to represent the intricate relationship between Sleeper blood and the world around them.
Players are always welcome to opt-out of anything in this section, but we do strongly encourage participants to help create a consistent atmosphere for the game. To those who opt-out OOCly, characters cannot ICly contradict these events.
NO EFFECTS THIS MONTH FOR ANY BLOOD TYPE: No blood type will experience unique effects this month. However, most Sleepers will feel as though they were walking through a dream. Characters may feel foggy, absent-minded, forgetful. It may become increasingly difficult to tell the difference between reality and dreams. There will also be reoccurring themes of the Mandala Effect where people's memories of recent events or known concepts don't quite line up. Many people may see random portals into other worlds or times in doorways, windows, tears in the fog. These "portals" cannot be accessed - they serve as a visual distortion only...But who knows...Maybe things can come out of the portals...
LEVELS OF CORRUPTION:: Extremely high. This month's events will have an enemy that can cause rapid corruption.
LEVELS OF BEASTHOOD:: Similarly, this month will contain circumstances that can cause rapid beasthood.

IMPACT SUMMARIES (OOC/IC)
Did your character start a new business last month? Did they have a massive fight? Solve some mysteries? Then this is the place to summarize the impact they have had on the setting! We hope this makes it easier for everyone to collectively stay in the loop about what other players are doing. This is not required but we feel it will help provide a sense of community among the characters. All impacts summarized should be incidents that could be publically discovered or referenced. Impacts can be from player plots, mod events, TDMs, character-created businesses, or other such concepts.
This will also serve as a light plotting post for those who are interested in bringing on more people for whatever they have done/how they plan to continue with their personal plots. Please fill out the following form and post it as a comment on this page!
