SEPTEMBER 2022 NEWSLETTER
Welcome to Deer Country's Newsletter! This is a half IC, half OOC informational post. We strongly urge our player base to read all Newsletters posted to the community as they contain important information about that month's weather, environmental changes, other plot-important information, important dates, and any important mod announcements. Newsletters will allow a chance for players to post about the impact their characters may have made in the setting using the form down below.
You can always feel free to ask questions on newsletters. Of course, we may sometimes suggest you wait until the event for certain questions, but for the most part, we should be able to help you out! Players are welcome to engage with the prompts/elements from Newsletter as soon as they are accepted into the game. Players may also use newsletter prompts as a basis for writing samples in applications.

CURRENT SEASON:: Season of Blood; the season associated with change and movement.
THE MOON:: Blood Moon. This Blood Moon is different than the one some Sleepers may remember from their first experience last year. It's its normal deep, dark red, looking like a circle of blood in the sky. Blood pollution is lower this month and blood powers will become immediately stabilized as the Blood Moon takes its shape this month. It seems like something in Trench is trying to make up for all the chaos from the month before.
PATRON PTHUMERIAN:: This month's Patron Pthumerian is the Never Mind. Ravens will be flying around the town, alerting people to dangerous levels of pollution, corruption, and the chances of beasthood. Allowing a raven to perch on your shoulder or to enter your home will alleviate corruption and beasthood risks as well as ease mental distress. The Never Mind can be found beckoning people to Gaze and encouraging them to educate themselves in whatever they are most curious about.
MONTHLY BLESSINGS:: On your Blessed Day this month, your Patron Pthumerian will bless you with a Feather Wreath. The Wreath will bring out the truth from anyone who is in its presence, whether it's hung in a room, held in someone's hand, or discarded on a shelf somewhere. People who are in the same room as the wreath or who are standing within eight feet of a person holding a wreath will find it impossible to lie to others. It does not matter if you are usually unaffected by these kinds of influences, the power of the wreath is linked directly to Sleeper blood, and will impact anyone, regardless of their usual immunities. The Wreath can be tossed or destroyed, but the person who discards it or destroys it will become blind for two weeks (or more, player choice) afterwards.
THE WEATHER:: It's staying chillier outside. Crisp, even, as sweater weather starts to really settle in through the month. The leaves are starting to change, but haven't quite popped yet with color, and while the angry storms are finally subsiding, nearly every day of the month is rainy. There are also seem random bursts of extremely strong and heavy winds through the month, though, particularly around sunset and sunrise. Enough to keep a person quite literally on their toes if it catches them by surprise and blows them forward as they walk. The wind seems almost playful, though, and people may find that it finds its way under their outfits and puffs up their shirts for a moment, or sweeps jacket tails and cloaks over peoples heads, before moving on to tease the next person on the path.
SIGNIFICANT CHANGES:: None at this time.
EFFECTS FROM PREVIOUS MONTH:: The ocean and weather patterns have finally calmed down and things will begin to return to "normal" in Trench in the beginning of the month. Blood powers will also have gone back to their normal state.

Each month, blood types will be impacted differently depending on events, Pthumerians, and moon cycles. These changes will vary significantly. These changes are meant to represent the intricate relationship between Sleeper blood and the world around them.
Players are always welcome to opt-out of anything in this section, but we do strongly encourage participants to help create a consistent atmosphere for the game. To those who opt-out OOCly, characters cannot ICly contradict these events.
There will be some months where all blood types are impacted or only some blood types are impacted. Rarely will there be months where no blood types are impacted.
WARMBLOODS:: Whenever someone is around a Warmblood for the duration of the month, they will find that their powers are heavily amplified. This can be anywhere from having a slight boost in skill, to a sudden surge in power that is impossible to control.
COLDBLOODS:: Coldbloods will be highly sensitive to temperature throughout the month. Cold feels colder, hot feels hotter. Humidity might make them feel like they're being weighed down by bricks (which is great in the rainiest month of the year), but if the air is dry, their skin may start to crack. This can be as subtle or as extreme as a player wishes.
PALEBLOODS:: Each week, a Paleblood will lose a different sense. The first week, they may find themselves incapable of feeling any touch. The next, all smell has disappeared. It doesn't follow the same pattern for every person and only one sense is impacted at a time.
VILEBLOODS:: Vilebloods will find that they are feeling more social, more affectionate, and craving companionship. Being in the presence of a Vileblood will bring other will feel mentally healing, leaving them calm and at peace for several hours after they are gone.
DARKBLOODS:: Darkbloods will deal with memory issues. They can forget anything from meeting up for coffee with a friend to full parts of their past or even their own names. Memories can be returned, but another will disappear in its place. Multiple memories can be lost at once or it can just be one at a time.

IMPACT SUMMARIES (OOC/IC)
Did your character start a new business last month? Did they have a massive fight? Solve some mysteries? Then this is the place to summarize the impact they have had on the setting! We hope this makes it easier for everyone to collectively stay in the loop about what other players are doing. This is not required but we feel it will help provide a sense of community among the characters. All impacts summarized should be incidents that could be publically discovered or referenced. Impacts can be from player plots, mod events, TDMs, character-created businesses, or other such concepts.
This will also serve as a light plotting post for those who are interested in bringing on more people for whatever they have done/how they plan to continue with their personal plots. Please fill out the following form and post it as a comment on this page!
